Kick-Off Meeting

September 18, 2020

Last month witnessed the official launch of FleX-RAY, a new project that aims to investigate the development of inherently flexible X-Ray detectors by utilising scintillating fibers and silicon photomultipliers.

The three-year FleX-RAY project is undertaken by a small and dedicated consortium of 5 research institutes and companies across Europe, bringing together expertise in materials, fibre optics, analogue & digital electronics and particle physics. Together, they will be working to develop the necessary technologies towards producing the first ultra-flexible, low-cost, self-shape reporting X-ray detectors. The project is funded by H2020-EU.1.2.1. - FET Open Challenging Current Thinking scheme.

Due to the ongoing restrictions posed by the Covid-19 pandemic the meeting was held online on Friday the 18th of September. During the meeting, the partners presented their organisations, and discussed general questions about their respective role and their scientific part.

Individual Kick-Off meetings per work package will be held in the next weeks to plan the activities for the first year of the project. This is my first post on my new fake blog! How exciting!

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 899634.
